31 Days to a New Year – DAY 13

December 13, 2011 – DAY 13: Working toward a goal requires intentionality and consistency. If you are not intention with your desire to reach your goals and stay consistent you will likely not go very far. Each day you should be writing out your short term and long term activities and goals. Make note of the phone calls you need to make and be sure to spend time thinking and growing. Reaching and sustaining goals takes a lot of time and effort, but look at it this way; we all waste a whole lot of time procrastinating and avoiding the things we should be doing. We make time for those things that are important to us. Goals take time because of what I call the gray elephant theory. The gray elephant theory is simple – you can’t eat the entire elephant in one bite! Each bite builds on top of the other until the entire task has been consumed.

Today’s action: Write down at least one thing you will be intentional with today. If you complete that task quicker than you thought – write down another and get going. Keep writing and working your to-do list. Keep evaluating yourself through the exercises of the past 12 days. We are nearly half-way to the New Year – don’t stop.  You are well on your way to a new you in the New Year!
