December 24, 2011 – DAY 24 | Family & Friends: The classic song Christmas comes but once a year should be a reminder that time is precious. It is programmed into us from an early age that the end of the year is meant to be about friends, family and reflection. But, why should we wait until a thin margin of time each year to invest in the things that are most important to us?
Family and friends are and should be precious to you. When was the last time you spent time with them? You don’t need to a lot of money to spend time with those who are most important to you. If you have children you know that time moves all too quickly and they grow up faster than any of us would like. Today comes but once, tomorrow is but a moment away from a fleeting thought. Cherish each moment… Take time out of the day to shut down the computer, turn off the television and the phone and just spend time with those you cherish. Get outside. Go for a hike or a walk. Touch football? Play a board game, Legos, or break out the crayons and color with your kids. Read to your kids. Take your spouse on a date. Sit on the porch with a friend, visit one who is sick and shut in. TAKE TIME often to invest in the most important assets you have.
Your Challenge today and each day ahead: Find ways each day to connect with your friends and family. Turn off life for a moment and just take time to invest… take time and use it wisely.
Merry Christmas
